Earthquake clusters aren't uncommon in tectonically active regions, and Nevada sits in the Basin and Range Province, a geologically complex zone characterized by stretching and faulting. Shallow earthquake swarms often result from magma movement, fluid migration through rock fractures, or stress redistribution along fault lines. Without the distinctive seismic signature of a nuclear blast and zero credible evidence of preparation at the test site, the most boring explanation is probably correct: the Earth's crust did what it occasionally does, and the internet panicked.
