The Holodomor in Ukraine (1932-1933) saw Soviet policies deliberately starve 3.5 to 5 million Ukrainians as Joseph Stalin seized grain to fund industrialization and crush resistance. Ireland's Great Famine (1845-1852) killed over 1 million and forced another million to emigrate when potato blight destroyed the crop that fed the poor, while British landlords continued exporting food from the island. These weren't natural disasters. They were policy failures, colonial exploitation, and ideological madness wrapped in the language of progress.
